If you are looking for a unique adventure that offers excitement and incredible wildlife then this tour offers that and more.

Greenland, home to approx 56,000 people, is a vast and still relatively unexplored country. And the east coast of Greenland is, in particular, VERY remote and is rarely visited but it has some of the most incredible arctic wildlife in the world.

Greenland is officially the largest island in the world that is not a continent, made up of stunning icebergs and sea ice. In winter, you could easily think you are in Antarctica when travelling around east Greenland.

It is rare to see wildlife images from Greenland - yet there is a HUGE amount of wildlife there. It’s rare purely because of the logistics required to explore this stunning arctic world. We now have access to incredible logistics to make this trip possible - from a fleet of new, state-of-the-art snowmobiles to helicopters, Greenland is set to become our major wildlife photography destination.

Logistics

We have access to a fleet of state-of-the-art snowmobiles designed for long distances, which are permanently based at Constable Point on the east coast of Greenland.

These are not Inuit owned, but owned by my British logistics partner with 35 years of Greenland experience. Each snowmobile is professionally serviced and maintained and extremely reliable.

Each client will be assigned a professional driver who will be in control of the snowmobile at all times. We will travel across Greenland on snowmobiles searching the best locations for wildlife.

Also included in the itinerary is a helicopter trip. All clients will take a one hour journey from Constable Point to Sydkap - a VERY remote hotspot for Polar Bears - in a helicopter provided to us by Air Greenland.

When we land, the snowmobile team will meet up with us ready to explore this stunning area of Greenland.

Polar Bears and other species

Our main focus on this trip will be to find and photograph Greenland’s wild and free Polar Bears. We have timed the trip so we have the best possible chance of seeing mother Polar Bears with cubs.We will visit the best locations to see bears, including the extremely remote area of Sydkap. This is rarely visited by any humans yet is known to have a high percentage of Polar Bears. We will spend 5 nights here to maximise our chances and we will reach Sydkap via a one hour helicopter journey. This would take 12 hours to reach on Snowmobiles. We will travel back to Constable Point via Snowmobile after 5 nights to explore new areas for Polar Bear, other wildlife and stunning landscapes.

As well as Polar Bears, we will also spend time looking to photograph Arctic Hares, Arctic Fox and Musk Ox. Areas such as Jameson Land in Greenland always have herds of Musk Ox grazing there and we will visit them to capture some great images. Arctic Hares are numerous in Greenland as are Arctic Fox and we have excellent chances of photographing them both.

Snowmobiles, Accommodation and Northern lights

As we travel around Greenland on Snowmobiles, you will see incredible icebergs and scenery that is crying out to be photographed. We will stop at the best landscape spots - but we will also stop whenever anyone wants to photograph anything.

The Northern Lights also show frequently and we will capture these on an evening. It will be dark around 9pm to 5am.

We will stay in different hunters huts throughout our 12 day journey across Greenland. The photo on the left shows the hut at Sydkap where we will stay for 5 nights - complete with the aurora above it.
